Terms of Service
Last updated 14 October 2026
These terms apply when you use CelebrantDay, whether you are making a keepsake or sending a wish and gift to someone. Please read them; using the service means you accept them.
1. What CelebrantDay is
CelebrantDay lets you create a digital keepsake for an occasion and share a link to it. People with the link can leave a message and may attach a paid gift. Wishes are sealed until the celebration date and are opened by the owner of the keepsake.
2. Your account
- You need an account to create and manage keepsakes. Sending a wish does not need one.
- Give accurate information and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Your birthday is set once. A wrong date can be corrected through a review, which has a fee and a yearly limit, shown when you request it.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk.
3. Content you add
You own what you write and upload. You give CelebrantDay permission to store, process and display it as needed to run the service, including showing it to people who open your link and, for your keepsake, to those you share it with.
You must not post content that:
- is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit or threatening;
- infringes someone else’s rights, or uses another person’s photos or details without permission;
- is meant to deceive, defraud or collect money under false pretences.
We may remove content or restrict a keepsake that breaks these rules.
4. Sending a wish and a gift
- A gift is a voluntary payment to the person the keepsake belongs to.
- You pay the gift’s price plus the payment provider’s processing charge. Both are shown before you pay. Payments are handled by Paystack.
- A wish only appears once its payment has been confirmed. If a payment fails, you are not charged and nothing is posted.
- You can choose to send anonymously, so your name is not shown on the card. We still keep the payment record.
- Gifts are delivered into a sealed keepsake for someone else, so a completed gift can’t be taken back by the sender once it is paid and posted.
5. Earnings and withdrawals
Gifts are paid to CelebrantDay first and credited to the keepsake owner’s earnings balance when they open the wish. See How payments work for the full process. In summary:
- CelebrantDay keeps a share of each gift, at the rate for that kind of gift, shown on the payments page and before sending.
- Earnings are pending until the start of the day after the celebration (Nigerian time), then become available.
- Before a first withdrawal you must complete an identity check. We may decline or delay a withdrawal if we can’t verify who you are, or if we suspect fraud or misuse.
- Withdrawals go to a Nigerian bank account saved in your profile. A transfer fee is taken from the amount and shown before you confirm.
- If an automatic transfer fails, we review the withdrawal and pay it manually or return it to your available balance.
Earnings are a balance owed to you by CelebrantDay, not a bank account. They do not earn interest.
6. Plans, coins and fees
- The free plan and paid plans have different limits and rates, shown on the billing page. A paid plan only takes effect once its payment is confirmed.
- Coins, where offered, are bought in bundles and spent on gifts. They are tied to your account and need a verified identity.
- We may change prices or rates for the future. A change doesn’t alter gifts already sent.
7. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the service. In particular, don’t:
- try to access other people’s accounts, keepsakes or earnings;
- use it to launder money, to avoid verification, or to move value you did not earn;
- interfere with the service, scrape it, or overload it.
8. The service as provided
We work to keep CelebrantDay available and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We rely on third parties such as Paystack and your bank, and delays on their side are outside our control. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes. If you keep using CelebrantDay after an update, you accept the new version.
10. More information
How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
